Tennis star Sania Mirza has decided to sign out of her social media accounts ahead of the much-awaited India versus Pakistan encounter at the Asia Cup on Wednesday.

Sania, wife of Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, took to Twitter to announce her decision.

"Soo less than 24hrs to go for this match, safe to sign out of social media for a few days since the amount of nonsense thts gonna b said here can make a 'regular' person sick ,let alone a pregnant one??Later guys!Knock yourselves out!BUT remember-ITS ONLY A CRICKET MATCH! Toodles!" Sania said.

The two arch-rivals will meet for the first time since the Champions Trophy final in England last year.

India and Pakistan do not play bilateral cricket and only meet at multi-nation tournaments organised by the International Cricket Council or Asian Cricket Council.

India and Pakistan cricket matches are always high-octane and one can expect a full house when they battle it out at the Dubai International Stadium.

Virat Kohli's absence from the tournament has been one of the talking points ahead the marquee clash of the six-nation tournament.

Kohli has been rested for the Asia Cup after a hectic tour of England where he aggravated his back problem during the Test series.

Kohli was one of the brightest stars in an otherwise gloomy Test series for India against England, scoring 593 runs at an average of 59.3 in five matches including two centuries.

Kohli's absence might have taken some sheen off it but the general excitement surrounding three possible Indo-Pak encounters will be the USP of the Asia Cup.

While there are two assured India-Pakistan matches, one in the group league and other at the Super Four stage, the organisers, broadcasters, and the supporters will be hoping for a possible summit showdown on September 28 too.

For India, it will be a chance to see how the team reacts to pressure situations in absence of Kohli, who has been rested after a gruelling England tour, which ended with a 1-4 Test series loss earlier this week.

India started their campaign with an unimpressive victory over Hong Kong.

India survived a big scare on Tuesday and registered a nervy 26-run win after Hong Kong nearly pulled off the biggest upset in the tournament at the Dubai International Stadium.

Chasing 286 for a victory, Hong Kong fought till the very end and put India under pressure for most part of the second innings but the experience of the defending champions helped them prevail in the end.

Hong Kong rode on Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath's record opening partnership to put in a brave fight but once the well-set duo departed, they fell behind the asking rate and ended up with 259 for 8 in 50 overs.

Today they will face Pakistan, who had registered a comfortable victory over Hong Kong in their first match. Pakistan will be fresh after getting a two-day break for India match.

In fact, India are the only side to not get a break between two matches in the group stage of the 50-overs tournament.
